Leist Warner Files Lawsuit Against Safeguard Properties

Leist Warner has filed a class action lawsuit on behalf of all persons who allege that they were the victim of improper actions by Safeguard Properties LLC. The complaint alleges that, “Plaintiff and Class Members were legally residing in their homes when Safeguard invaded the sanctity of their homes, destroyed their property, and attempted to forbid them from reentering their homes.” The Complaint further alleges that, “Safeguard’s illegal practices have become so widespread, uniform and well-known that the practices complained of herein have been the subject of actions by state attorneys general, individual lawsuits, numerous police reports, and other actions in an attempt to bring an end to Safeguard’s illegal practices. For example, the Illinois Attorney General filed an action in the Circuit Court of Cook County, Illinois, Case No. 2013CH20715, in September 2013. In the Illinois action, the Illinois Attorney General challenged nearly identical illegal practices by Safeguard to those being challenged in this litigation. Online, a petition to stop Safeguard’s practices reveals how widespread its illegal practices have become throughout the United States.” The complaint is currently filed on behalf of, “[a]ll Ohio residents whose homes were entered by Safeguard while the residents were legally occupying their homes.”
