Illinois Sears/Whirlpool Moldy Washer Class Certified

After 10 years of litigation, an Illinois court recently certified a class of Illinois residents who allege that their Sears Kenmore Washer, manufactured by Whirlpool, was defectively designed. The Plaintiffs allege that the Sears/Whirlpool washing machines which they and similarly situated individuals purchased were defectively designed in a manner that permitted the accumulation of mold. Some Plaintiffs indicated that the mold accumulation became so excessive that it smelled throughout their homes and on clothes that were washed in the Whirlpool manufactured washing machines.

The certified class includes only Illinois residents. If you reside in a state other than Illinois and have an issue with excess mold accumulation in your Sears Kenmore/Whirlpool washing machine you are not a member the certified class and you should seek counsel.
